Violinsanity
musicians, violinists Dominique Agnew and Becky Ross, began
playing together as a way of sharing their love of Classical
music. In a desire to
share
their enthusiasm, they began performing and have
performed
for weddings, parties, receptions, various fundraising
events, and teas.
Dominique
Agnew began playing the
violin
at age eight and studied privately with Angelo Gatto. She played with
the
Maryland Youth Symphony Orchestra through high school and with the
Maryland
Symphonette for three seasons. Since then, she has focused on raising
her
family while accompanying the choirs of St. Louis de France, St. John
Neumann
(including their Italian concert tour in 2001), and Our Lady of the
Presentation
Catholic Churches. With Violinsanity,
she is enjoying her return to professional playing. Mrs.
Agnew offers private violin instruction.
Becky Ross was classically trained on violin as a
child and was drawn to begin playing again after discovering
Celtic
fiddle music. She performs with several Celtic groups in the
Washington,
D.C.
area and plays regularly for English and Scottish Country Dances. She
also
gives Scottish fiddling lessons. Becky accompanies the St. John
Neumann
Church choir (including their Italian concert tour in 2001). As
part
of Violinsanity,
she is enjoying the return to her classical
roots.
